The Puzzle of
Ancient Man by Dr
Donald Chittick – Into its 3rd edition now with even more
information Chittick addresses the issue that popular culture has led us
to believe that ancient man was primitive, originating from primates and
steadily improving through a process of time and chance. But does that
agree with reality? What does the evidence left behind from past
cultures tell us? Was ancient man simple and primitive as we have been
taught, or did the level of science and technology existing thousands of
years ago rival, or even surpass, the level of ours today in the 21st
century?
Unformed and
Unfilled: A Critique of the Gap Theory
by Weston W. Fields – A comprehensive and devastating critique of the
Gap Theory. The supposed Gap between Genesis 1:1-2 where many struggling
Christians have tried to fit everything from the fossil record to the
unbiblical Lucifer’s flood. Fields looks at the historical setting for
the Gap Theory and the Hebrew grammatical clauses and word definitions
used in the attempt to justify it.
The Genesis
‘Gap Theory’ Its credibility and Consequences
by M.W.J Phelan – Phelan’s book was written for the sincere student of
God’s Word addressing the proposed gap between Genesis 1:1-2 which is
used by some to try and accommodate the alleged vast ages of evolution
and the Luciferic rebellion. Phelan shows that there is no scriptural
basis for these claims and they are based only upon human speculation.
Creation and
Time: A Report of the Progressive Creationist Book by Hugh Ross
by Mark Van Bebber and Paul S. Taylor – From the Bible Van Bebber and
Taylor bring to the reader a revealing critique of Progressive
Creationism’s most visible proponent, Dr Hugh Ross. Not only does Ross
claim that the biblical flood was local, not global, but he also teaches
that death and bloodshed existed for billions of years prior to Adam and
Eve’s sin. Dr Ross contends that the simplest reading of Genesis reveals
overlapping Creation “days” of billions of years beginning with the “Big
Bang”. He charges that those Christians who believe otherwise are out of
touch with reality and are making it impossible for modern people to
accept the Bible and Christ. Van Bebber and Taylor bring careful and
accurate biblical study to bear on each of these claims (and many more),
revealing numerous errors in theology and misuse of Hebrew. In an
increasingly secularized society where the Bible is being reinterpreted
at point after point, many will find this to be a significant and
helpful book.
