Curious Earth is a display created by Creation Outreach Ministries designed to present evidence which supports the Biblical account of creation and show the many holes in the story of evolution. It contains information and examples which can be great conversation starting points. Some examples of the information displayed are shown below. The Curious Earth display is used at many of the talks that are given by Creation Outreach Ministries, but it can be also be used as a stand alone evangelism tool as well. To book the Curious Earth display or discuss how it can be used please contact us.
The information presented on the Curious Earth display may not conform to what people are taught through the media, museums, schools, universities, etc!
Take for example the picture of the Stegosaurus Dinosaur on the right which was depicted in the 13th century temple of Ta Phrom in Cambodia. It doesn't match the evolutionary theory that dinosaurs became extinct 65 million year ago.
What about the lava dome pictured below which formed on Mt St Helens in the early 1980’s? It was dated to be between 0.35-2.8 million years old bringing into question the infallibility of radio-metric dating.

Or what about the fossil fish pictured below still eating its dinner clearly an example of rapid burial and mineralization, which doesn't fit well with the evolutionary dogma of slow and gradual formation of sedimentary rocks over eons of time.
In the Western world the evolution story (particles to people) is presented as fact. Very few questions are allowed about the origin of matter, life, or the impossible evolutionary mechanisms involved.
Many people try to marry the concept of evolution with some type of super intelligent 'god'. However, evolution is wholly naturalistic – it attempts to explain the origin of everything in a purely materialistic way. This means that any 'god' allowed by evolution must just be the result of natural processes.
Evolution removes the transcendent God of the Bible entirely from the creative process and thus his authority over this world. This implies that you are not special, nor made in the image of God, but rather according to the theory of evolution, you are just a bunch of molecules, which just happened by chance to be in their present configuration after millions of years – you are re-arranged pond scum or re-arranged star dust – therefore you are not special. Lucky you!!
In reality, this belief takes away your dignity and special place God's creation. Ultimately this results in life without purpose and sadly, many people see themselves in this position today. We hope that by showing you 'Curious Earth', you will see that the theory of evolution is anything but fact and is really nonsense. You are made in the very image of God and are therefore unique in all of His creation.

Is this what you believe you came from – a pond where chemicals came together by chance to form a living cell? How many piles of bricks have ever built themselves into a house? |
One eminent atheist put it like this, "Your conversations are simply atoms moving and are of no more significance than the atoms of steam rising up from a cup of coffee!"
"Okay," you ask, "if everyone is made in the image of God, then why do we do we do such horrible things to one another? Why is there so much sorrow, suffering, bloodshed, disease and death all around if we are created by a loving God in his own image?"
The theory of evolution has no answer to any of these questions; things simply are the way they are, because that’s the way they are, everything is random without purpose. Therefore on that premise, there is no basis for morality, or even trying to define something as ultimately 'right' or 'wrong'. This is only possible if there is a transcendent creator God, to whom we are all responsible.
There is such a God. This God, who has revealed Himself through the Bible, gives us the answers to the big questions of life.
God, the creator, tells us in the opening chapter of Genesis how he created the universe and also man, who is the pinnacle of God's creation, made in His image. However, the first man, Adam, plunged the perfect world that God had created into sin, through disobeying God's command. The wages of sin was is death, and thus came suffering, sorrow and disease that prevails in this fallen world!
We are all descended from that first man, Adam, who was our representitive before God, so we to are sinners. Many people ask: "What is sin?"; "Why am I guilty before God?". Sin is rebellion against God's will and commands.
Consider the 10 commandments (Exodus 20). No one in their sinful state can stand before God with a pure heart and clean hands, for no-one can honestly say: "I have always put God first in my life; I have not given His rightful worship to other vanities and false gods; I have not lied, cheated, stolen or lusted". No one is right before God, all have sinned and fallen short of His glory perfect standard.
Many people consider it bad news that there is nothing that we can do to make up for our sin before God. They are right – it is bad news. You will be judged for your sin after you die, will be found guilty, and be condemned by God to spend eternity in everlasting punishment.
However, this need not be the end of the story, as God, lovingly and graciously showed mercy and provided a way back to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus left the glory of heaven to come down to earth to take the punishment for our sin – death on a cross, not for his own sin, but for yours and mine, that we might be reconciled to God. Jesus had no sin of His own, and thus could pay the price for our sin, which we rightly deserve to pay ourselves. He willingly took that punishment.
God's wrath against our sin was satisfied and thus He remains perfectly just.
If God has used this message to show you that you need to turn from your sin, then, "Seek the Lord while he maybe found" (Isaiah 55:6). Pray that He will show you that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour (Acts 5:31). The Bible clearly states that, "God commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30).
You can only be saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8). May God give you this grace to repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and enable you to live your life for him through the power and presence of His Holy Spirit living in you.
